First Time Manager Training

Course Description

First Time Manager training is designed to assist managers who have moved into their role from being an individual contributor to a manager. It is very important as productivity is heavily dependent on the capability of these managers to handle the front line. The training is carried out in a risk-free environment which encourages trainees to practice the skills that are taught. Different training methods are used including simulations with feedback and group exercises in order to enhance the learning process and the participants how to become a good first time manager.

Course objectives

After successful completion of this course, candidates should be able to:

  • Explain their role and responsibilities as a team leader;
  • Provide clear and engaging direction to their team members;
  • Give feedback to team members on their performance;
  • Demonstrate their skills in coaching team members to motivate and enhance performance;
  • Delegate tasks to team members in an engaging and supportive manner.

Any new manager, new supervisor and high-potential management candidate who is moving from being an individual contributor to a new manager and who must now get results through others.
